Soda Lime Cartridges for Co2 Absorbtion

03/04/2015 11:15 PM

Hello Guys

I am back with a new development project on Co2 absorption system. We are developing a system having Soda lime which is essential for CO2 absorption in inhalation anaesthesia machines with rebreathing systems.

My query is i am totally blank on the Soda Lime specifications. What are the properties. How does it look. what is the moisture content.

Most important how to test it for absorption capacity.

Please guide me. I have to start from scratch.

Looking forward for assistance

A quick internet and Wikipedia search will give you the properties, MSDS (materials safety data sheet) data, etc.

As good a place to start as any. Moisture content can be gauged by weight change.

Sofnalime was the brand name of the absorbent certified for use in the hyperbaric life support system in the submersible I helped design and test.
