In today's world, models are used to help us grasp difficult concepts. In engineering, computer models such as finite element analysis work very well to test prototypes of new concepts and products. However, computer models can have a darker side. Financial models have led to massive over-leveraging that has brought the banking world to its knees, and weather models brought all European air traffic to a halt for nearly a week.
