Cool Cars: 1972 Chrysler Charger R/T E49

Ever since writing about a 1973 Chrysler Valiant Charger R/T E49 a few years ago for Hemmings Muscle Machines, I've kept my eye out for one here in the States, knowing that they'd be few and far between – after all, they're not all that common in their native Australia, and no more than a handful have been imported here – but I didn't think it'd be more than five years until I'd see another one Stateside, and in Panther Pink no less, as is the case with this 1972 Chrysler Valiant Charger R/T E49.

Straight from Australia, this 1972 Chrysler VH Valiant Charger RT boasts a 265cc Six Pack Hemi straight-six engine, three speed manual transmission with NOM added E49 package, and an auxiliary fuel tank.

	The color is factory? 'Pink Panther' scheme. Horrid! No other word for it. Other than that, I agree it is a pretty cool car. I had no knowledge of this Aussie variant. Interesting and informative. 	Actually it is not a Pink Panther color scheme. Panther Pink was the official name for the color. Mopar was known for all kinds of crazy colors back in the muscle car hey day. Panther Pink, Sublime (that wild lime green color), Sunfire Yellow, Tor Red Poly (aka Hemi Orange), Go Mango (a loud orange) etc I didnt know that they were available down under as well. (and even refererred to by the same name)

	I think they meant to say 265ci rather than "265cc"! A rather big difference in power output! __________________ Tom - "Hoping my ship will come in before the dock rots!"
