Although many of us working in the field celebrate the joys of chemistry everyday, the International Year of Chemistry should help promote the field and further advance interest in the value of chemistry to everyday life. What ideas or issues should be promoted? Will the celebration raise awareness and inspire young students to pursue chemistry as a career?
