Are Biodegradable Gadgets Your Thing or Not?

Posted November 07, 2011 8:03 AM

Biodegradable electronic gadgets — for instance, a waterproof paper watch, a cardboard vacuum cleaner, a phone made from biodegradable plastics, and others — continue to appear, as this recent article describes. Would you buy such green products to be environmentally friendly or for style? What if they cost more than non-recyclable ones?

The preceding article is a "sneak peek" from Appliance Technology, a newsletter from GlobalSpec. To stay up-to-date and informed on industry trends, products, and technologies, subscribe to Appliance Technology today.

More green BS.

The most environmentally friendly approach would be to design and build things to last, rather than junk that falls apart and needs to be replaced in a few months.

Typically, I find that whatever celebrities are touting as great, turns out to be complete BS. They may be able to sing or act, but they don't score high in the brains dept, and tend to be easily led. Most of them have jumped on the green bandwagon so they can have some special cause to tweet about. It makes them look smart to their even stupider followers.

What would make far more sense, is to to make items out of recyclable materials, that have a refund value.
