When
a dozen or so historic electric vehicles gather next weekend in
Kingman, Arizona, as part of the Route 66 International Festival, fans
of the cars hope that their presence will amount to more than just a
one-off car show and help lay the groundwork for the world's first and
only museum dedicated entirely to electric cars.
"I think everything is falling in place for this museum," said
Roderick Wilde, one of the people pushing for such a museum. "I think
the time for it is now."
The showing will help launch the idea, as will a just-announced
temporary museum designed to generate interest and attract donations for
a more permanent home, but even Wilde knows that plenty of work lies
ahead before the doors open on a permanent museum.
