Brewer Building Better Bio-electricity

Combining anaerobic and aerobic bioreactors has multiplied the effectiveness of a unique water treatment process. The system, designed for the food and beverage industries, generates electricity directly from organic waste, while also producing biogas and reusable wastewater. At a California brewery, an added membrane bioreactor reportedly cleaned more than 20,000 gallons of high-strength spent brewing water and increased removal of organics from 80-90% to 99.9%, all while generating high-quality bio-gas.
