EPA to Propose Emission Limits for Aircraft

A good initiative taken by US government...hope other countries would follow this steps..so we would be pollution free one day.

Maybe they could use the output from the lavatories for the selective catalyst reducing system?

Building cleaner burning, more efficient engines is being done every day!

If it were left to corporate America, without government intervention, we'd still burning coal.

If it were up to Luddites like you, we'd still be burning crude oil and coal in stoves and lamps and air pollution would be killing millions more than it already does.

Regardless of your don't give a damn, irresponsible, tire burning attitude, even you will have to admit that pollution controls DO save lives, DO reduce deadly emissions from power plants, DO help to keep the air clear enough to see through.

Even you will have to admit that without them, two things would be at much higher levels than they are without them.

1. Corporate profits!

2. Deaths of children who live in China and other high pollution countries!

Cripes, that's BS and you know it.

The steady progression to better more efficient designs and energy sources/systems is not government mandate driven and never was. If anything government mandates tend to hold back the progress to better designs more than help them.

Government mandates didn't bring us the invention of the compact fluorescent bulb or the LED. They were brought about by independent scientific and business research and already on the market well before the government ever stepped in and said anything aobut lighting efficiency.

Coal burning for most everything but large industrial applications where massive amounts of cheap thermal energy are needed was going out over 60 years ago way before clean air regs were even dreamed about. I don't even burn coal for heat.

As for crude oil I have no idea what you are referring to being I do not know of anything that burned it directly on a large scale ever.

If I am so backwards why do I have so much modern tech and amenities at my disposal? My daily driver vehicle is propane powered. What's that say?

Same with oil lamps. WTF? As far as I can think of every regularly used utility powered light on my property except for the ones in the refrigerator, oven and microwave are either LED,CFL or high efficiency HID.

What I do have a problem with is having BS mandates, regulations , restrictions and worse placed on us by the government in their quest to suck up as much money and control they can get away with that costs me more while giving me less such as the BS emissions laws we have now that make us burn more fuel less efficiently 'to be cleaner'.

I have zero problems with being more efficient. I never have. I excel at it! Heck, it wouldn't surprise me to find out that I live more energy and financially efficiently that you do.

REDUCING greenhouse emissions does not mean, "put[ing] emission systems on aircraft".

Hopefully they test it on civilian government aircraft. Somehow I doubt A.F. 1 will ever have to comply
