Hybrid Adhesive Sticks to It

A hybrid adhesive that combines the dry adhesive properties of the gecko with the wet adhesive properties of mussels provides long-lasting stickiness under both conditions. By creating a structure of hooked nanohairs that mimic those on gecko feet and coating them with a protein adhesive inspired by the mussel, researchers produced a robust, long-lasting adhesive.
