Tilt-Up Construction "Grows Up"

Posted October 06, 2007 8:36 AM

Pre-fabricated, reinforced, tilt-up concrete panels have traditionally been utilized for single-story construction. But new advances in engineering, design, and architectural finishes have allowed the tilt-up panel to grow up. New four-story, five-story, and even taller commercial structures are becoming the trend, giving owners, and architects project cost savings and safety benefits.

This blog has singularly gone very quiet . I would have thought that CE's in the construction business in the USA and or Europe would have lifted the game.

The Australian scene on lift up is doing very well and significant advances in :

-lifting methods,

-steel supports allowing fine adjustments ,

-good control and quality of ready-mixed concrete delivered to pour site,

-high quality steel anchors at lifting points

all contribute to significant positive results.

So far I have not seen any further news from the initial mag. report not have I seen any comments on the use in USA of polystyrene sheets in this construction type. Any news will be appreciated.

We were putting up single piece multi Floors in the 70's. I don't remember any 4 and five story but 50' walls were not uncommon. By prefabricated I'd think they are still fabricated at the base where it is tilted-up.

So they must be saying "We can tilt-up 4 and 5 story's at a time from one monolithic pour without breaking it into useless rubble".

Or maybe I inferred wrong again.

Hello,

I'd like to supply you with CSS Polymers Inc. concrete repair. We
have a Quick Mend crack and spall repair product that cures in 15 min.
and is as thin as water, so it get's to every crack and crevis and
becomes part of the concrete itself not just a void filler. Quick-Mend
is a specified concrete repair material for Wal-Mart and Home Depot.
Another one of the advantages of quick-mend is that it will work in a freezer
-20. So here's the link http://www.csspolymersinc.com/index.htm
and we can be as competitive as you need us to be.
Thanks,

James Martin
