Will Kindle Fire Up E-Paper?

Posted December 14, 2007 8:54 AM

Amazon's e-book reader, Kindle, was released just in time for the holiday season, and appears to be a hit, since preorders ran it out of stock (but Amazon hasn't said how many readers were available in the first place). The e-reader shares many similarities, including the same E Ink monochrome display technology, with Sony's e-book reader. Although a Wall Street Journal reviewer panned the Kindle for physical and software design issues, he and others reacted positively to the 6 in. E Ink Vizplex Imaging Film display, which offers a 180° viewing angle, sunlight readability, thin flexible substrate, and low power consumption (no backlight). What are you reading these days?
