New Microscope Views Nanoworld

Posted November 12, 2006 10:00 AM

A microscope that integrates an optical microscope and an ultrafast near-UV laser may provide insights into nanoparticles or nanostructured metals. Developed by researchers at JILA, scanning photoionization microscopy (SPIM) combines the high-resolution imagery of an optical microscope with laser-stimulated triggered photo ejection. Contrast in the SPIM images depend on the source locations for the ejected electrons, as well as material characteristics.

hey,

What is the website of that company so I can get more details of that tool.

By the way, does any one knows the links on internet where I can get hands on actual design details of compound microscope (optical) , good enough to observe blood samples.

Thanks,

The Joint Institute for Laboratory Astrophysics (JILA) is located in Boulder, CO and operated by University of Colorado and the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Their web site is http://jilawww.colorado.edu/

I'd suggest using GlobalSpec to source medical microscopes.
