Should you use outside engineering and system integration services, or should you perform technical work in-house? A system integrator gives his take on the subject in the latest issue of Control Design and his conclusion may surprise you. Despite being a provider of engineering services, he says that in-house execution is the preferred route.

there is risk and advantage in this. the risk is your information being revealed to others. on the other hand the advantage is you can know new technologies its like knowledge sharing. developing in-house capabilities is also a good attitude but it will make you unexposed to current trends

Hi Guest,

Outsource???

The advantages far out weight the disadvantages...new tech is only one...ask many minning companies and ou will get different answers...but the many that have moved in that direction have found many advantages. The sharing of confi. info.is one where controling people breakdown..who is to say the world does not know about what you think is confi...your own workers could out of ???? share it with who ever.

different fields have different needs but mining and such can gain much.

Think about costs....that differ each month...why...think about persons that do noy turnup for work.....

out source...means one cost for a job...how it is done is not your concern....

example...$ cost to move material from point one to point 2....you own the machines....what is the cost to you....what would a contractor do the same for and you only pay for the product moved....no breakdown of machine or manpower costs...think about it..
