Hello CR4! My name is Eric Schneiter. I'm a third-year aerospace engineering student at the University of Virginia (UVa). While M&M_aero is settling into her new home and job, I'm planning to post some entries here to help fill-in. I also hope to continue blogging after M&M_aero's return, as frequently as my studies will allow.

As an aerospace engineering student, CR4's Aerospace Blog will be where I focus most of my energy; however, I also have a minor in Physics. Currently, I'm also working with faculty at UVa to build a new minor that is centered upon energy concerns and sustainability as it pertains to engineering. So, I enjoy writing on a variety of topics.

I am new to blogging, but have some ideas about what I'd like to post and discuss. If you have an idea or topic you'd like to me blog about, please let me know.

Happy blogging!

Hi, I'm Eric Schneider, so we're one letter removed. We've got an A6 in the bay that we are looking at the hydraulic control system on, so if you ever get up to RIT we can give you a hands on view of a small portion of aerodynamic control systems...

Enjoy the summer!

Dear Eric Schneider,

this VTOL (vertical take off and landing) unmanned aerial vehicle for military use recently was demonstrated.

Question: why are the upper wings not extended as far as the lower ones?

The end vortices can be suppressed by the vertical section as by winglets.?

There should be a spacing (vertically and horizontally) of the lower to upper wings that can make use of the vortice that is parallel to the trailing edge of the lower wing?

Anything known or calculable?

Eric Schneider, Thank you.

To the Guest, I have taken many classes in the Aerospace field because it is a whole major. What specifically are you asking about?

RHABE, I am not familiar with this vehicle and don't really have any answers for you unless I could learn more about this craft.
