Hemmings Motor News Blog

Hemmings Motor News has been around since 1954. We're proud of our heritage, but we're also more than the Hemmings full of classifieds that your father subscribed to. Aside from new editorial content every month in Hemmings, we have three monthly magazines: Hemmings Muscle Machines, Hemmings Classic Car and Hemmings Sports and Exotic Car.

While our editors traverse the country to find the best content for those magazines, we find other oddities related to the old-car hobby that we really had no place for - until now. With this blog, we're giving you a behind-the-scenes look at what we see and what we do during the course of putting out some of the finest automotive magazines you'll ever read.

Did Mary Have a Muscle Car?

Greg Clark left a message on the Hemmings Forum lately asking if anybody could help him out in tracking down the history of his pink 1967 Firebird. So, what, was it a Mary Kay car (probably, but we don't know for sure)? Did somebody lose a bet? It preceded Dodge's Panther Pink (and Plymouth's Moulin Rouge) by a few years, so it clearly wasn't inspired by the competition. I have another theory, though it's a bit far-fetched.

Oh Yeah! Unfortunatly even had been in my hands couples of those puppy's back then I didn't realized how much of the collectible these puppy's would became so much appreciative deligthfull of later years perhaps most of such puppies came street racers ready and then they was real good to be working with them further with some good aftermarket modifications and all that stuff to make then run like a ___ out of the hole, Unbelievables muscles cars absolutly. I do remember even some of the guys altering those Volkies Engines, man they did fly by definetly. One of my preferred was the Chrysler Road-Runners and those Small Pontiacs FireBirds Buddies what a beautiful factory sound out of those engines, fantastics. What happened with those Puppies ? I will be planning to go to one of those nice oldies shows whenever I can make it out. I don't know. Allset pal's hang in there and wait for the best.

Those -AMC Javelins- was awesones definetly. And the oldies Camaros and Malibus forget it those was off the hook incredibles babes. Ahhhh! What else I may say ?

Good Quality,

MC
