In a joint academic collaboration, university scientists developed a 'true blue' organic light-emitting diode (OLED) material that may aid development of next-generation big-screen, energy efficient OLED displays. They could offer a greater field of vision, better color quality, and require less power than liquid crystal displays (LCDs). Will OLED be the best technology for future displays?
