Anything to rip off the motorists, if the people responsible for traffic control did a proper job of helping the traffic flow instead of putting more lights more restrictions in the way of bus lanes/ cycle lanes etc., & make the pedestrian crossing lights work properly, the only set of these lights that I have seen that work properly is on seven sisters road in north London where a pedestrian presses the button, the lights change straightaway people cross lights change traffic moves, whereas other lights, person presses button waits for lights to change when this doesn't happen quick enough they walk across between the traffic & then the lights change in favour of pedestrians but they have already crossed so the traffic sits there polluting the atmosphere until the lights change back, & this is multiplied thousands of times a day in the city.

So may I suggest that the people responsible for the traffic get off their arses and start earning the big fat pensions their going to get instead of just biding their time doing the least they can do until they get a golden handshake thanks to the fines and zone charges that they have created to cut the pollution that they have created.

Well said. I been thinking about this as well. I think all traffic lights need to be readdress with a better timing approach. I see some that a very good even with timing and driving speed to the next intersection lights. Looking into the long wait with turning at intersections when most could have a blinking yellow instead of waiting a full cycle. Thank you for sharing your opinion on this matter.

Used to be that driving west along the Euston road at 30mph if you hit the first lights at Kings X and they were green you could go all the way to the A40 elevated section without stopping in 5mins tops, now you can do it in about 1/2 hr, there's progress.
