I still have all my tools and jigs for building rockets. My kids, all the nephews and nieces have all built their own as well. Those that survive...(the rockets, not the kids) are still brought out every once in awhile for a launch party. My favorite is a RC glider that I built that launches on two E engines. On a good day in the right location she can fly for 15 minutes after launch. What a blast!...pun intended.
My youngest daughter laughingly attributes her career (she's a nurse) to model rocketry. She says she was always scared someone was going to get hurt and learned first aid because of it. I guess seeing a failed chute opening and having the rocket impact just a few feet away as we all ran for cover could have something to do with it.
