E. Moschim was born in São Paulo, Brazil, in 1953. He
received the M.S. degree in electrical engineering from the State University of
Campinas (UNICAMP), São Paulo, Brazil, in 1983, and the Ph.D. degree in applied
physics in 1989 from the University of Paris-Sud, Orsay, France. From 1978 to
1985 he worked with CPqD/Telebrás, Campinas, with optical fiber communications
systems. Since 1985, he has been a staff member of the School of Electrical and
Computer Engineering at UNICAMP, where he is now a Professor. His research interest has been
photonic technology, eletromagnetics, and software for communication systems
simulation.
