Price and value are interrelated. A simple card index system would be a good start, for the price of the stationery!

Part of your success as a maintenance supervisor is being assertive, prove that you need the sftware, it's worth the investment and the results will add to your prestige.

Just imagine: No one will need to walk to your office with a writen form, they will generate the orders from any PC on the intranet; it will offer managers acces to up to date information from any remote computer, your technicians will self-manage their daily tasks (no more "group leaders"), plus a hefty chunk of etceteras, plus what you originaly asked in your post.

I used the free version of CWorks for a few months and then upgraded to CWorks Plus. I have used CWorks Plus for 7 years now and I really like it. The Plus version is much less expensive than comparable products. ($100s vs. $1,000s)

The free version is quite powerful and is a good way to try it out.

Tech support is very responsive and knowledgeable. they have both Malaysia- and US-based support so are available pretty close to 24/7.

No, I don't work for them. I just really like the product.

What business is that in?

Excel can provide all means to do what you need to do if one knows how to use it.

What system are you using now?

Good, free, understandable; pick any one or two.
