Set FQDN

05/05/2015 10:00 AM

Good Morning everybody !

I have a specific application that i want to use his feature on my mobile phone,it's about VOIP, which will allows me to call extension on an organization even when i am utside, but first the application require to setup an externally excessable domain name (URL) before i can access the organization from outside such as 1xp.yourcompanydomain.com. I try many times but no result,to be honest i never did it yet,so if someone has a better idea on how to set up an FQDN on either Windows or Linux,i'd very appreciated .

Thanks !

Are you trying to imply that by simply knowing a particular extension's FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name) you'll be able to "fool" the VOIP router into allowing you to communicate with that extension as if you were an internal extension?

Okay, an IP PBX is installed in that organization called Avaya IP Office 500 V2 system phone, there is an app server that will be installed to OS Windows server called One x Portal sever which will be use as a service to allows users transform a mobile phone as an extension that will be able to make and receive call inside of the organization and also outside the organization by installing a client app in this mobile called One X mobile, but before the user can access the PBX from the outside which will allows him make and receive call it requires to setup an externally accessible domain name (URL). This is my issue, i m looking on how to setup a FQDN on either Windows or LInux.

Thanks !
