Need Advice About Ford Edge

05/28/2015 5:07 PM

Hi all

Good day to you

I am working in DUBAI

I am planning to buy Ford EDGE 2015. But many my friends are saying that the maintenance cost will be too high and you very less resale value.

Looking your voluble advice and tell which one is better one similar type.

Thanks

There is so much sand and dust there it's hard to say what would work...I would think there would be some sort of special made breather/filter system made for use there...maybe you could invent one...? Me? I would just go to the airport and look for an abandoned car with the keys in it.....

Are you buying the car for yourself, or your friends?

Who will drive it?

Who will pay for it?

Who should it satisfy?

Go online and look at Consumer Reports.and other publications and reviews.

Buy a car that pleases YOU!!!!!!

You will find that your personal.satisfaction will far outweigh your friends opinions.

Drive friendly.

And what evidence did your friends show you to back up their claims? You can find reviews for just about any vehicle on-line today.

The 2015 is a totally new design, including a new engine.

See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Edge

I would be worried about any first year model of any consumer item.

I don't know how any calculation of ownership cost can be done on a new auto design. Nor can any statements be made about maintenance. It may be a design capable of 250Kmiles (400Km). Probably not though, it's a Ford, and they do a good job of designing for 70Kmile 7 year life expectancy before failures of inconvenience occur.

If you do your own maintenance, open the hood, and find every item that will need maintenance.

If I can't find the oil filter, or it's hidden behind the engine where you can't touch it if the engine is hot, or need special puzzle nut wrenches to remove covers designed to require dealership only maintenance, I don't buy the auto.
