Job Description

This brand new role will be reporting into the Site Engineering Manager and will have 12 electrically biased trade persons directly reporting into you along with several contractors. The role will be covering all aspects of electrical engineering including facilities, technical diagnostics, maintenance, manufacturing and production .

The role will be to supervise and provide technical support to electrical craftsmen and all contractors on a daily basis. Ensure the department operates with due regard to current legislation, company and statutory requirements. To ensure the safe and efficient operation of electrical/electronic equipment throughout the site. You will need to assist in the specification of machinery required in the procurement of capital equipment. You will also be charged with the implementation of facilities based capital investment projects. To oversee the installation of production and plant equipment, commissioning, breakdown analysis and repair.

The Successful Applicant

The applicant must have 10 years experience in industrial electrical maintenance and minimum 2-3 years people management experience. They will need to be able to demonstrate strong technical ability. They should have C&G/ONC/HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

They should be self motivated, able to work unsupervised, excellent communicator, someone hands on and effective, able to motivate and control staff.

They will need to be an effective problem solver and very methodical.

They will need to strive for change and continual improvement in all aspects of their work .

They will also need to demonstrate a good safety record and work as an advisory to the other departments.
