Downloading of Google Earth

I'm not an expert but I found this With some googling.

Maybe this will help.

Uninstall "Google Earth" (G.E.), download a new copy of the install program from the "Google Earth" site, and use it to reinstall the program. It should work for you then. There are many bogus G.E. installation programs on the net.

In addition to this or instead of this install "Google Earth Pro". Download and install in the same manner. It has been free for several months. It has some advanced features not included in the G.E. original program. Unfortunately some of these features obscure or mess up some of the features of what are from the original program. If I need the G. E. features only I use it. If I need the features of the G.E.Pro program I use it. Takes a little time to learn what are on each program but it helps a lot. For instance G.E. does not show property lot borders, G.E.Pro does. If you don't need these don't clutter up the screen with more than you need.
