`How do you justify poor countries like India,Pakistan,China testing nuclear device 30 years ago when most of their people didn't have housing,water,roads,jobs etc suffered from hunger. They even assist neighbors killing powerless(no UN membership) minorities.

Nuclear program was cheaper to implement than to solve the other problems.

These programs would have trained thousands of engineers.

I'm sure some of those engineers are now working on the other problems.

As for the UN. It is pretty toothless.

Those countries you mentioned now have their big guns so they can focus on the local issues now.

The problems you describe, are associated closely with overpopulation. If it weren't for the space programs and the technology that follows, it most likely would be worse. Would you back the UN, if for example, the UN ordered the slaughter of cattle or monkeys to feed starving people?

In south india farmers eat rats when rain fails. In north india farmers commit suicide when they can't settle loans. Govt controlled by north indians refuse to divert rivers to south although lot of water flow to the sea for more than 100 years,even when britishers ruled. Similarly govt in Srilanka has not diverted rivers to the dry north where minorities live but they settle major community in north to dilute them. They spend lot on armed forces,weapons but say no money to minorities while US spreading news to another uprising to damage minorities. Despite all expenses no social security is implemented. State employees get pension till death and wife too gets it upon husband's death. In private sector only one payment called provident fund is paid when retiring but when it is spent they have no income unless kids support. Saudi arabia said they will give pension to foreign workers after working for 10 years but in 1985 or so abruptly said pension scheme is cancelled. Do we need UN???

Many european countries and canada don't possess nuclear arsenal but they help poor in asia, africa and south america. Why can't asian countries develop without nuclear weapons. It may be a plot by interested parties.
