Spammers .....

Maybe Al-Qaeda and/or ISIS is nothing more than a junior varsity organization... but they've pulled off some senior varsity attacks. As far as I know they don't trust communicating with cell phones after what happened to Osama bin Laden. Take a look at the right side of this page, under "CR4 sections" and tell me which sections wouldn't be of interest to a terrorist organization? And some of the questions we field, still leaves me wondering......

It's all about the web page hits and their ranking in a google search!

Also, if you do go to their page then you have a good chance of getting hit by a drive-by virus on your computer.

You don't have to download anything, you just have to let their web site load and you're infected

See for yourself, I have been keeping an eye on the spam and saving copies before they are deleted. Here is what I captured (in reverse date order over the last few weeks) and my analysis................

Have a close look. This isn't written by a non-English speaking spammer, or someone using a poor language translator, this is written by an automated piece of software using key words and a phrase generation algorithim to push a number of products (in my opinion).

The big question I guess is modern automated spambot software also smart enough to bypass captchas and create a fake CR4 profile before it posts or is there a human spammer also involved in profile creation and posting?

I would check the current state and security of the CR4 profile creation but cannot remember my login password at the moment so am not sure I could log back in.

I would give you some cheese as a prize but we are all out! How about a nice parrot, has excellent plumage.

It's basically a bunch of words for google's or somebody else's search engine to key into. (If Google can write software to drive a car, how come their search engines are fooled by this crap?)

You don't have to pass a captcha to post on here, and you'll notice the number of posts is usually 1 or 2. Maybe the answer is to require "newbies" with say less than 10 posts to pass a captcha to post. If spammers required some human to do a little work, maybe they would go elsewhere.

I totally agree we need to do something to cut down the spammers. But looking back at what happen in WWII when the Japanese was eavesdropping on our radio communications. What they thought was a bunch of gibberish non-sense, was in fact our Navajo code talkers.

So what looks like random computer generated gibberish non-sense crap that somebody gets paid a penny a post, could be in reality clandestine communications.
