Seeking Hydraulic Analysis module recommendation

07/17/2007 5:25 PM

I would appreciate someone's opinion on selection of a powerful, user friendly software to perform a hydraulic analysis of kerosene. I currently need the following parameters to be met by a module:

  • Steady-state analysis (flow analysis, pressure losses in pipelines)
  • Surge analysis

Have thought of doing hand calculations but found this would take months to do since there are multiple regenerative loops and an expansive network of fueling lines (app. 5 miles).

It would really be helpful if anyone could turn me on to a module that they have used and liked.

I would appreciate any input

Hi Dusty:

There is a company in South Africa who uses a program from USA called Surge 2000 which is probably the most user friendly program around, but if you don't work with it on a regular basis it will still take a long time to start doing a successful analysis. My suggestion would be to contact this company, send them all the relevant details and they would quote you to do the analysis for you. their details as follows:

Sentinel Water Services

Contact: Willy le Roux

E-mail:wjleru@telkomsa.net

My contact details as follows:

Peter Telle

E-Mail: peter@floquip.co.za

Good luck

Peter
