For me, the most disturbing sentence in your report can be found in the middle of your report. "At that rate, the F-35 would be out of ammunition in about four seconds, or one or two bursts of fire."
This means a pilot will not be able to even test the gun before attempting to engage. With only one or two bursts available this will be like sending a sniper out with just two rounds. This reminds me more of the silly idea with the F4 Phantom of not having any gun at all.

Let's see. That's not going to be a very effective weapon when gun fighting.
Just how are they going to roll the thing into position, line up the cannons and fire without being heard and seen by the enemy? Maybe an electric tug?
And the A10 has 30mm rounds made of depleted uranium. It comes in low and scares the crap out of bad guys. And the military keeps trying to kill it so they can buy more F35's. Go figger.
Well this is what happens when you try and do everything, you do most to none of it really well. Even the US military knew this with their multi-role fighters of old.
Technology hasn't changed to allow this now, and there is NOT a large enough technology gap with other countries to allow a half-assed effort and get by on overwhelming superiority alone.
