CR4 Repairs

08/03/2015 10:03 AM

I know that a lot of added work "under the hood" has to be done from time to time to keep CR4 open and operating well. This past weekend was apparently one of those times. I appreciate all of the fine work the administration has done from battling spam attacks to bringing interesting articles for us to ponder. I would also appreciate a simple "Under Construction" banner to be placed at CR4 instead of a "null" screen when work needs to be performed at this site.

Thank You

I wasn't aware CR4 was being updated (worked on). Perhaps there was a mention of it last week, but if so, then I missed it. If not, a bold message warning of impending doom would be appreciated.

I agree with Redfred some sort of "Under Construction" banner instead of a null screen would be helpful too.

I'm glad to see the site up and running again.

Had to make a trip to the local ER, the withdrawals were so bad I'm Glad to see we're back up and running!

With the "null screen" I figured CR4 was attacked and the Admin. didn't have the chance to fore-warn of the outage. I don't remember seeing anything about a planned maintenance warning like we have in the past.

Anyhow, Thank you, Administrators for all the hard work you all put in to this site

I just figured that someone forgot to plug in the laptop that CR4 runs on and the battery went dead while they were home for the weekend.

Had a disk crash this weekend on my laptop. I was afraid the damage had extended past my C drive.

I naturally assumed the server was overloaded by the masses attempting to mark my stuff as "good", that the server capacity was overwhelmed.............you mean it was something else that caused the interruption?

I thought that the admin. finally had it with the 'Anonymous Posters" and said screw it and shut the site down.

One too many dumb questions and the computer automatically deleted the entire site!

I have to agree that some sort of notification would be appropriate, but who knows since nobody has said anything yet, we are still left guessing....it could have been something unintended or unexpected, it could have been a site software update....

I thought I picked something up on my iPad, and I thought it was an issue there, so I cleared it history and cookies.

When I couldn't open it on my tablet, phart phone(as Lyn calls them) or my laptop, I figured we were under attack by our spammers who couldn't post anymore Then the withdrawals and the trip to the hospital

My other thought was the CR4 modem/router got a power blink and someone didn't count to 20 slowly after turning it off then back on.

My wife does that all the time with ours. My 20 second count is typically a 40 - 60 count for her.

Sorry for the delay in replying to this thread. The site wasn't intentionally shut down. Something went awry over the weekend and couldn't be addressed until the Monday morning. I hope that you all survived! :)
