Is the relay properly configured? (Baud rate? Parity? Start bit? Stop bit? etc.)

Slave or master? If slave, has the master been properly configured to accept the device?

System address correctly assigned to device? IS it in the correct protocol format?

Is the circuit impedance being matched/met with the correct burden resistor in place on the relay (device) terminals?

Is the signal wiring polarity correct?

How many devices are allowed on the Modbus network you are trying to install the relay in/on?

Is the relay series or parallel connected? What does the system require?

All of the needed information for the relay is contained in the IOM and the information on Modbus communication is available for free on the internet.

  1. Turn off Caps Lock
  2. Use the internet to discover the telephone number of the local Siemens office.
  3. Use a telephone to speak to a specialist there, giving details of the problem, a list of the things that have been tried, etc., etc.
  4. There is no No.4.

Shaj,

Sorry mate but you are just gonna have to do the research and self learning that you have just asked the CR4 members to do by yourself.

You have the advantage of having the equipment under your nose.
