What is Free Energy?

07/19/2007 5:15 AM

Is free energy, only that which is available for conversion contained within a system, or as specified in Wikipedia, may have other meaning, which are legitimate in scientific terms?

There aint no such thing as a free lunch. Ultimately it is simply the amount you can convert at the least cost.

It's what you have left after your day's work....and before the 'trouble' gets you decorating/shopping/over to her Mum's etc.

I define "free energy" as a system of getting something for absolutely nothing, hence free. Since this is impossible (you can never get something for nothing), I further define it as "free energy - the impossible dream" (also see "Perpetual motion - Why we need better education"). A simple definition but that's all it really needs.

There are other uses depending on the context but I am not aware of any that are completely correct (eg- "we harnessed the waste heat given off of the system to create free energy"......."Its time we all stood up and said Mr Energy did not commit the crimes he is accused of. FREE ENERGY!".........etc).
