Whoever designed that marine vessel, might also get a demerit. The pilot might be just lucky at that instant- a mere fluke. I would not encourage my pilots to gamble touch down like that, if I were the commodore.

That ship was seem obsolete - were there no active ballast stabilizers system installed on that ship?

The Flagman's balls must be at his neck that time

Obviously not enough gold ballast down below. Sounds like they need your copper to gold converter.

Do you have any comprehension of how much ballast has to be pumped, and how quickly, in order to provide the compensationrequired, just roll roll, let alone pitching?

Having had experience watching helo's land on a carrier deck in the north Atlantic, made that video terrifying to me.

Impressive. But don't think this landing is any close to possible without advanced electronic flight assist. Way too many parameters for a pilot to risk a miscalculation or split second mistake. S.M.

We had one mishap on the carrier, I happened to be watching as the co-pilot of a landing SH-3 put his arms up over his face in a cross pattern, the signal for a major problem. The Helo pulled away and began to rotate, pitch and yaw. It inverted and slammed into the water, the rotor folding up around the craft. It was several tense moments before the entire crew popped up one-by-one.

It was determined that the ASE (Automatic Stabilization Equipment) had malfunctioned.

Frightening stuff. In the first, the helicopter looks almost of wide as the landing pad.

Don't know why they don't use a winch-powered landing assist tether. Helo hovers above the ship flight deck, drops a cable tether that is hooked up to the ship's winch. The helo maintains slight climb power to keep tension in the cable while the winch turn pulls the helo down to the deck.

Your idea would probably work fine if it weren't for the "ground effect" and if the "ground" that produces the "effect" wasn't heavily tilting and vertically oscillating. S.M.
