Looking for Construction Reference Book(s)

08/28/2015 1:44 PM

Looking for a reference book, or books, for the Commercial/Industrial Construction Industry that would be the equivalent of the Machinery's Handbook.

However, if there is one thing I have learned over my many years is that there are more not-so-good books out there than there are really good ones.

So, before I start trial and error, I thought I'd come here to see if any of you have any first-hand knowledge regarding recommendations for books to both checkout and/or stay away from.

Thanks

It might not be directly suited to your needs, but "Architectural Graphic Standards" has lots of useful information, including strength and span tables for wood construction. Similarly, the AISC "Manual of Steel Construction" for steel work.
