Loop Seal Pressure Increased

A change in boiler and/or burner firing control due to a change in fuel quality or boiler tubing issues?

ID Fan(s) worn causing performance issues?

FD fan(s) operating at a higher output set-point?

Boiler control loop(s) not properly tuned?

If you have access to the engineering terminal I suggest you access the historian files and determine when the issue first occurred.

A review of the boiler controls and feedback information from that point to the present time will yield some very good information to help locate the cause(s).

If you do not have any history DATA I suggest you discuss the issue with the control room operations personnel and/or operations supervision for their input.

Of course you checked the calibration on your instrumentation, didn't you? If nothing about the process operational parameters has changed except the seal pressure then I would be verifying that it is being reported properly. As previously suggested, a review of the logs will help you determine why you are getting an off-normal reading, and with a bit of analysis may even tell you where to start looking.
