Question About Tank Thickness Formula

hello,i try to calculate wall thickness of tank.i find expression;
S=Max Allowable Stress Value
Ej=Weld Joint Efficiency
How can i find S and Ej for CarbonSteel?
and What is "Cc" I Dont know.

That formula is for a cylindrical vessel. Is yours?

S depends on the grade of steel (assuming that's the material) and should be given in the design standard you're using, eg ASME VIII.

Ej should be in the standard and depends on the NDT you're designing for.

Cc is corrosion allowance.

First of all thank you for information.
Yes we are thinking about using vertical cylindrical tank for Ethyl Acetate.
instructor doesnt say anything about design standart."we need to select one of them"
i found some article about ASME and NDT but i cant find numerical value.how can i to access this numerical values?

You need to decide on a design standard, get hold of a copy and work to it. This should contain the data you're looking for. Which standard does your formula come from? I have an old copy of BS5500 which has a similar but not identical formula.

BS5500 has been superseded by the European pressure equipment directive (PED) but for background only, BS5500 has 3 construction categories, differing in NDT requirement. Cat 1 has 100% NDT (usually radiography), Cat 2 limited random NDT, Cat 3 visual inspection only. Also different thickness limits.

Doesn't use joint efficiency as such, but different allowable stresses for the various categories, based on UTS Rm and yield stress Re (which are given in the standard). For Cats 1 and 2, allowable stress is lower of Re/1.5 and Rm/2.35. For Cat 3 it is Rm/5. That's an outline, there's a lot more depending on design temperature, various steel grades etc.
