Practical Applications of Flyback and Forward Converter?

Hi ,

I was curious to know the practical applications of flyback converter and forward converter. I've read that they are generally used for low power applications ranging from 50-200W.

But how do we decide which one to use?

And what are some practical applications of forward and flyback converters?

Thanks Lyn. But I was looking for some practical applications where forward converter is being used. I didn't find specific answer regarding applications.

Well, if you don't know how to decide which one to use, after reading what they are, then you shouldn't be using them.

Maybe you should search for uses using the internet.

Like "where are XXXXXXX and XXXXXXX used"?

Do a little homework/research, on your own.

Vicor uses a resonant forward converter in many of their bricks, 25W up to 600W.
