S.S. White X-ray Test Kit

I found this Pennwalt S.S. White x-ray test kit in my father's garage. Can anyone explain what the various items are and how they are used? The red pouch contains a stop watch.

Other than the bubble level and the plumb bob I cannot tell at all what you have while packed in their containers. The WAG I can offer is the device with the bubble level is a film holder. What's in the red pouch could be just as easily be the hip flask your dad hid from mom. If the red pouch contains a stop watch then a very weak X-ray (or other radiation source) was tested over time. The other item might be calibrated shields that rest on top of the film pack for part or all of the exposure time controlled by the stopwatch via the operator.

Thanks Redfred! It was a stop watch in the red pouch. (I did find some whiskey flasks nearby too )

There's one for sale here & it says it's for dental x-rays. Can't imagine what you do with the big plumb bob.

The plumb bob is for determining the center of the x ray beam....
