Fredski,

Your account has been hacked and turned into a spam bot.

Don't worry, I've reported it to Admin and notified the Huntington Beach PD, the FBI, the NSA and the CIA.

Yup, that was my first thought too! We all know Fred wouldn't skate through with a post like this

Shortly after posting a response to Fred ski, I received an email from an organization called " educational information services " . I traced the path and found it resembled a legit organization at the new york public library, although they have no connection to that company. I suspected they are on a phishing expedition.

My apologies. Woke up and see a lot of links and a bridge.

Nothing that made sense at first and so I thought it was a hack.

Again my apologies.

Huh? I don't have time for no stinkin' bridges.
I'm over on FB posting about Russian subs parked along underwater communication cables, anarchists attacking cops on Halloween, and the Chinese prepping to wipe out the US power grid....and these are just the conspiracy theories coming out of government!

I'm trying!

I like to think that I'm here to make people happy, but the cold reality is that I like pissing people off. I'm sorry. My parents didn't buy me enough toys.
They didn't tell me that I was special. It's not my fault.

The new design kinda looks like that innovative Oakland Bay bridge, that's in dire needs of some innovative ideas before the next big one hits. $6.4 billion (+) US dollars and leaks like a sieve.

Hopefully it won't be a Caltrans project!

insanity- that's California, Ronald Reagan did a bang up job when he closed all the mental institutions while he was the California Governor. The earth quakes don't bother me, it shoddy craftsmanship and materials they used in the construction of that innovative bay bridge. I have not and will not cross that bridge so I have routes to circumvent that POS. Just wait'n til mom passes then I'm out of here.

I actually like California, I just couldn't live there. I used to live there from November of 1985 until July of 1989 when I was stationed at the Presidio of San Francisco. My wife and I enjoyed traveling and sight seeing all over the state when I had the time. It is a beautiful state and there is so much one can do, but the cost of living, real estate, and the taxes would keep me away now. Nice place to visit . . .

It's to bad that a State's reputation is known for the people's attitude that reside there. It was a beautiful state at one time, now you can't walk down the streets of San Francisco with out looking over your shoulder wondering who's going to shoot and rob you. And that's if your lucky enough to cross the Bay Bridge with out it falling down while your on it.

There are much better places and people in this world than California and I'm not saying all the residents here are all bad, we have some good people here on CR4 from Calif. just the majority of the people has some suck ass attitudes

Re: Bye Bye 6th St Bridge

Why do so many new structures have to go the extra step (and spend the extra dollars...) to be designed as an icon, when a plain (vanilla) type of simple, functional, durable, economic structure will do just fine, at a fraction of the cost, especially since the (great recession) is expected to last for at least two more years?...

More simply, just how many more such (white elephants) can the taxpaying public be (directly and/or indirectly) required to pay for...

A design can be both functional and attractive. These work well and look contemporary or classic forever.

It's when the appearance takes priority over function that we see these installation art public purse legacies being built.

I gotta give this response a GA-vote for (expressive phrase-ology) at least!

...

Quantitatively speaking, it reminds me that ''art'' is mostly really just:

what the (artists) are doing,

what the (art critics) are critiquing,

what the (art dealers) are dealing, and

what the (art buyers) can be cajoled into buying,

no matter how un-artistic that (art) may actually be...
