Punch lists for fiber optic cable installations

07/24/2007 2:40 PM

Hi,

Can anybody share a punch list for fiber-optic cable installation? We have a project where outdoor trunk and branch fiber-optic cable will be installed underground and connected to fiber-optic data transceivers in traffic controller cabinets.

Some industries use "Punch List A" and "Punch List B", which are distinguished as the installed equipment may be operated after all of pucnh list A items are completed, and the project itself is completed and final payment released after all of punch list B items are completed.

I can be reached at e-mail: artyomk@hotmail.com. Thanks in advance.

Only three things.

  1. Visual inspection of the finished installation, looking at the details of the fiber breakout areas of each end. Looking for areas that lacked attention to detail.
  2. Detailed listing of the parts used for future upgrades and or repairs.
  3. Detailed testing result reports of each fiber installed using current fiber testing equipment.
