THE VAPORIZATION TEMP. FOR AG IS 2112 C.

THE MELTING POINT FOR PT IS 1769 C.

Isn't it obvious they can be smelted in the same crucible? Agitation required to preclude stratification of density differentials of melted alloy.

Induction smelting may overshoot desired temp. due to excitation factors differential of the molecular frequency of each component element.

We use 10KHZ at up to 9000 gram melts on a 15 KW induction furnace. Caution on overshoot on small melts dependant on IF size.

Gas ( pot ) smelting under an experienced hand attending will not overshoot and will give opportunity to homogenize the final casting. Assay recommended to confirm spec. tolerances.

Thank you Mr Guy. I am very pleasure your info. You said you had the big quantity (9000 gram) experience. Do you have the small quantity (1000 gram) experience?

Hi Mr. Guy,

Could you give me some Info on the Pt80/Ag20 alloy?!

I need amorphous ribbons which I can produce by Melt Spinning but dont know the alloying technique and other parameters...

Thanks...
