100 kVA

Dear ALL

shortcut to calculate the amp is it 100kva X 1.41 = 141amp

Any advise please

No...

You cannot calculate amps without knowing the voltage as VA is "volts x amps". The "k" means 1000 VAs.

The shortcut is you assume the voltage.

you think that posting how to search it in internet would really help? Instead of not giving the correct answer, why can't u just not respond or go to the lawn and water the grasses or if u r hungry eat them, enjoy the life ol'man.

Dear Friend,

100 KVA = 100 x 1000 VA. If Voltage is 420, (in 3 phase) then the Current = (100 x 1000)/420 = 238.09 Amps. Hence 100 KVA x 2.38 238 AMPS. From where you got this factor 1.41.?

Perhaps for HP x (1.41 ) = Current in Amps will hold good, provided Voltage is less than 420 Volts, since Power = Sq.Rt.3 x V x I x Cos. Phi and HP = KW/(0.75)

Shortcut? I wrote a spreadsheet of all the calculations I use.

Write it once and you can do your own homework quickly in the future.
