IFI 100/107 standard

07/25/2007 10:45 AM

Does anyone here have handy the prevailing torque requirements called out in the IFI 100/107 (Industrial Fasteners Institute) fastener standard? If you know of a link where I can read the standard in its entirety that would be great, but I'll take what information I can.

I've got a situation where one distributor is supplying a 1/2-13 locknut (nylon insert) from two different vendors that claim to meet the spec above, but the one seems to not work as well as the other. I need to start with understanding what it is they are supposed to be providing and go from there.

Thanks!

Never mind. I think I found what I need. I just missed the book in our library.

You can download the standard instantly at http://webstore.ansi.org/RecordDetail.aspx?sku=IFI-100%2f107%3a2002 for $20.

Like takes you to a page selling it for $40. Does anyone have it available cheaper?
