If the power source-load is the pumps, do you have over unity??

I'm a really big fan of flow batteries. today most people have no idea about them, I think that's about to change and the cost will dive

Me too. Too heavy for cars, but perfect for homes and grid storage.

Powered by Gatorade.. It's got electrolytes.

I agree, but I wonder if they could be modified to run on true waste products such as those entering the waste treatment plants in cities, where there is an endless supply of liquids likely to contain organic electrolytes. That would be a major breakthrough.

This is a battery. You're talking about an energy source. I think people are actually working on that.

No need, I get my power from the national grid at a fraction of the cost and we are sitting at about 80% renewables and clean energy production.

The vanadium salt based flow batteries (actually they are fuel cells, but never mind) were the first on the scene but are proving to be too costly. There are organic electrolytes using the quinone-hydroquinone redox reaction that can do a similar job (although lower voltage per cell) but at a much lower cost. Summarized quite well here:

http://eandt.theiet.org/magazine/2014/02/go-with-the-flow.cfm

If you have an hour to spare, you can watch Prof. Michael Azziz tell all here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5U1WAolcp3Y

Bearing in mind that quinone derivatives occur in plants and are harmless, quite likely that vanadium salts will not make it.

How do you bring $200.00/kWh electricity to the masses who pay an average of 12 cents/kWh for their electricity today?

I thought they were talking about $200 per kWh of capacity in the battery, not of actual electricity, though the article does not actually specify that.

Make them pay more for grid power - see other topic where many complained that renewable targets weren't reasonable.

That's easy.

You eliminate all of the fossil fuel powered and hydroelectric powered generation plants then there will not be any choice but pay the high rates.

Your Power Source-Load looks like a hard pill to swallow, perhaps a smaller pill would be easier to digest!
