The first thing you do is read the operator's manual

(2) Hire a competent operator

(3) Contact the factory representative

Contact the factory.

Free advice, from people half way around the world is not worth much.

Go to the manufacturer's website for advice.

Run it at 1MW to save fuel, run it at 3MW it will use more fuel.

What do you expect it to do, produce power out of fresh air? Power produced and fuel consumption isn't linier.

Contact the manufacturers or RTFM.

Judging on your post about suffering engine damage I would surmise you have hit on the root-cause of the damage.

Something is wrong with the engine fuel system and/or mechanical components.

Things to look at:

1) Engine timing. (Per factory specifications? Stable or floating/changing?)

2) Fuel quality. (Correct octane? Correct fuel? Alcohol content?)

3) Fuel injector or carburetor condition and operation.

4) Timing gear, timing chain, or timing belt condition.

5) Cylinder compression. (Bad valves and/or excessive cylinder clearance.)

6) Engine vacuum. (Loose components and/or leaking components.)

7) Restricted air intake. (Plenum scaling/buildup, plugged air filter, animals/birds caught in the intake screen.)

8) If equipped with sparkplugs and distributor or magneto then closely examine and replace as needed.

9) Excessive engine wear.

Hope this helps.

Does the manufacturer's tag say "Product of Chrysler" ?? They tend to guzzle gas when under load. Sounds like a "blow by" problem with worn rings and burned valves.
