Dust Control Scrubber for Underground Mining

07/27/2007 3:19 AM

Hi, I am working on dust control problem in coal underground mining

I am looking for very compact dust scrubber or advise if any one can supply me with right type of impeller, may be from turbo compressors technology, that can be not larger then 500 mm in diameter, but extract from 10 cub.m/sec to 12 cub.m/sec, very dusted air through the set of filters, that for I need maximum suction pressure to be able to generate, electrically driven motor speed not more then 2950 RPM, also impeller must not be from aluminium and sound pressure must be less then 90 DBA.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record.... "knowing what question(s) to ask shows potential... knowing to-whom or where to pose/post the question exhibits profound intelligence..." Try the outfit which has been THE expert source for decades now (I have a relative who worked there for a stint) ... "Mine Safety":

Best of luck in your endeavor ~

Anything that makes a spark will clean that coal dust right outta there, it'll also take the miners with it! No long term disability claims for black-lung!!!

I can not enter your web site there is some restriction on it.

The aplication is very basic

Cross sectional area = 30 Sq.m

Sufficient fresh airand dust <2mg/Cub.m

Noise level must be <90dBA

At present we using scrubbers wet and dry type, but they are not effective anylonger

Present scrubbers too big and operating at maximum 10 Cub.m/sec. suction flow

10 cub.m/sec is OK but the size of the impeller is much too large.

My development work orientated on to find smaller impeller size from turbo-technology with high performance.

http://www.joy.com/jmm/photo_gallery/index.html The 14CM15 Miner uses a wet spray S/S vertical filter scrubber that has a self cleaning and dump option.

http://www.jhfletcher.com/longwall.htm The Fletcher Roof Bolter uses a Dry box system with horizontal S/S filter scrubber and 2 Large Donaldson Engine filters being vaccuum (Sucked) by a Rootes Blower / sucker pump. The collector box has a sealed door that has to be opened for cleaning and dump action when the machine is stopped. The machine we use has a dual boom drilling and vaccuum systems.

Hi,

Thanks,

I am Product Engineer for JOY Mining Machinery and many JOY CMs is not comply with new coal mines dust control restricted regulation.

I have to develop new technology to replace old scrubbers concept.
