The part I don't get is why it has to be labeled as 'mysterious'.

Russian writing aside. I assume there are a limited number of components these could be a part of?

They were vessel's to hold what? liquid oxygen? milk? swamp gas?

Why don't they burn on on re-entry? Are they worshiped and feared?
