FEA - Material Properties

01/10/2016 9:57 AM

Hi,

In my company we have a new FEA software package and we would like to obtain stress-strain curves for various materials we design our components with. The software comes loaded with pre-defined materials however, one of out clients wanted us to verify our FEA with their supplied stress-strain values which are slightly different to the software's data. Can anyone recommend a useful resource/name of a book/references that I can use to obtain the values for materials?

No.

You can find GENERAL materials properties with a search.

Specific properties can only be determined by testing that material.

Matlab has typical properties.

The material manufacturer is the only source of specific properties.

Use your client's data for constant. Lyn is right. There must be a feature of the FEA software to let you input customized value of material. Otherwise, the software is a waste.

Hi Thanks for your response. We are indeed using the stress strain values in the FE analysis given to us by the client and the software allows for custom inputs. I will try to source that info from material supplier... Thank you.
