01/13/2016 11:23 AM

This week's news video:

  • IHS Automotive says that 2015 was a good year for mature car markets, although this was largely offset by a very poor year for many of the world's emerging markets. The net result is expected to be a "sub-par" 1.5% growth rate in global auto sales.
  • Hyundai Motor received approval from Nevada authorities to begin testing a fully autonomous fuel cell electric vehicle.
  • BMW unveiled its AirTouch technology at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The technology features intuitive control of entertainment, navigation and communication functions using hand gestures.
  • Additional temporary water storage capacity is needed near the confluence of the Ohio and Mississippi rivers to handle peak flows and avoid the flooding that occurs during extended periods of above-average rainfall, say University of Illinois researchers.
