Concrete Coating of Steel Pipes

02/17/2016 6:39 AM

What should be the peripheral speed in mtr/min of a carbon steel pipe undergoing external concrete weight coating to achieve uniform coating thickness?

An external coating will require a mould to get any reasonable finish. Normal practice is to spray the concrete at a low peripheral speed followed by a burst at a higher speed with vibration to consolidate the concrete.

As for speed, you have to balance that with the flow of concrete.

I stand corrected, shotcrete can be used without an external mould. It gives a rough finish.

Peripheral speed and application rate will be propriety information.
