Development of super capacitors are latest and there may not be much books published but study papers and science reports must be available . Super capacitors are electrical storage devices that can deliver a huge amount of energy in a short time. Hybrid-electric and fuel-cell powered vehicles need such a surge of energy to start, more than can be provided by regular batteries. Super capacitors are also needed in a wide range of electronic and engineering applications, wherever a large, rapid pulse of energy is required. So there is lot of scope in this field of development.

2006 Researchers at MIT's Laboratory for Electromagnetic and Electronic Systems (LEES), succeeded in development of enhanced double layer capacitors with major performance improvements. If you obtain their research papers probably you can get better idea.

We are right now working on them and are really fascinated at the wide range of applications it has.We would like to know whether they are available in Indian markets or not and their cost range.We know for sure that Maxwell Technologies is manufacturing them but their availlabilty has been a problem for us.
